My tabletop gaming preferences are strongly tied to the table. Playing a session is my time to hang with friends, doing a nice social activity. It is equally about the game, as it is about the chit chat that is interwoven with it.
In turn, when I think about RPGs I tend to think about the physical aspects of the hobby. Flipping through a book; writing notes in my notebook; erasing and writing on my character sheet; handling dice or card. When I think of them, accessories are important physical artefacts.
Yesterday I mentioned my All Rolled Up which is one of the nicest accessories I have. But other than that I’m at a loss. And as a person in love with this hobby for a while, now with some cash to burn, I keep looking for nice things to buy other than books or dice – and I draw up blanks.
There is a bunch of existing accessories I am not really into (dice I consider to be core to the experience) or don’t have a use for anymore. Besides, they all already exist. Digital stuff is not really my jam, I game to get away from the screen and the digital life.
But I am really looking forward to the day I find an accessory I really do want to enrich my tabletop experience.
